Florida quarterback Tim Tebow was injured after being on the receiving end of a brutal — but legal — hit from Kentucky defensive end Taylor Wyndham Saturday, staying down on the field for several anxious moments before eventually walking off the field under his own power.
Wyndham rushed in virtually untouched from his right defensive end position and drilled Tebow when he was looking in the opposite direction — and as Tebow went down, his head was hit by the leg of a Florida offensive lineman. Tebow at first appeared to have suffered a head or neck injury in the collision, and the entire Florida team walked toward the field to show support for their leader.

He was injured and taken to hospital following the match against Kentucky that his team won handsomely.
Tim Tebow has been playing superbly for the last several years.
He opened the 2009 season continuing a streak of of throwing and running for a touchdown in blowout wins over Charleston Southern and Troy.
He ran for a touchdown in the third game, a win against Tennessee, but failed to throw for a touchdown for the first time since his freshman season.
Tebow started against Kentucky despite suffering from a respiratory illness and taking two bags of intravenous fluids before the game.
He ran for two touchdowns to put him in 2nd place on the all-time SEC touchdown list and he also threw for a touchdown.
Late in the third quarter he was hit in the chest by Kentucky defensive end Taylor Wyndham and then in the back of the head while falling by knee of Florida tackle Marcus Gilbert.
He lay motionless for several seconds before being helped to the sidelines.
Once there, he vomited. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. A CT scan showed no bleeding in the brain, but officials called the injury a "bad concussion".
A report about his illness says, “After being evaluated at the hospital in Kentucky, they have now decided to keep him overnight for further evaluation. Reports say that keeping him overnight is purely for precaution and that they do not suspect there to be any further damage…There was already a question before the game on whether or not Tim Tebow would even play in the game or not. The Gators had several team members ride in a seperate plane to the game because of a sickness that was going around. The decision was almost made before the game to let John Brantley start, but Tebow was feeling well enough to play. Urban Meyer told the associated press, "He asked me 'Did I hold onto the ball?. I told him he did and he winked at me and said It's great to be a Gator.”
